Racket Social hosts weekly community sports events (pickleball, tennis, and padel) designed to help people play more and find new players. The events are fun, relaxed, and easy to sign up. We built the brand identity for the platform, capturing the fun, high-energy vibe of a social sports club, night after night, city after city, court after court.

Pain points & solutions

Getting the brand right meant carefully tuning several elements at once: a powerful cherry red that needed taming, a very specific photo vibe, and hand-drawn details that had to feel natural rather than sloppy.
The cherry red was extremely powerful, which fit the concept well, but required careful tweaks to the surrounding palette and supporting tones to make sure the overall feel read as energetic and fun, rather than aggressive or overwhelming.
Photography needed many iterations to nail a dynamic, festive feel with strong flash-style editing, evoking real social energy and excitement. Represent this using photos of sport activities without looking too competitive was a challenge.
The scribbled elements took several passes to get right, since they needed to feel natural while staying fully readable and polished across the brand touchpoints. The first iterations looked more sloppy than spontaneous and required multiple tries.
Solutions tested

High-contrast photo editing

Photos were edited for high contrast and vibrance to capture the desired energy, favoring images of real people actually playing or hanging out together, so the social, dynamic side of every single event came through clearly and unmistakably, night after night.

Cherry red balanced with light blue

The powerful cherry red was paired with a very light, cooling blue, creating an opposing contrast that brings harmony to the red and keeps the overall palette feeling fresh, fun, and approachable rather than aggressive or overwhelming to the eye.

Dynamic typography with subtle cuts

The typography carries subtle cuts on certain letters, like the 'E's and 'K's, that are discreet but unusual, giving the wordmark a special, dynamic sense of movement that echoes the energy and rhythm of the brand itself.

Hand-drawn scribbles from the logo

Scribbled elements originating from the main logo add extra dynamism and organic, human movement throughout the brand, capturing the full vibe of every Racket Social event: motion, people, connection, laughter, and fun.

Energetic & fresh

The final brand captures the full energy of Racket Social: fun, dynamic, and unmistakably social, built around a powerful cherry red balanced by a cooling light blue, so the palette feels energetic and fresh rather than aggressive or overwhelming.

High-contrast, vibrant photography of real people playing and hanging out brings the social vibe to life, while dynamic typography with subtle letter cuts and hand-drawn scribbles pulled from the logo add movement, humanity, and fun to every touchpoint across the brand, a true reflection of what every Racket Social event feels like.
