The project involved organizing large volumes of content spread across multiple sources and destinations. Every decision needed to support discoverability, flexibility, accessibility, and long-term content management.
Important information was distributed across numerous pages and external destinations. Bringing everything together under a single structure required careful planning to ensure users could easily locate and navigate complex content.
Designing the CMS introduced a unique challenge. The system needed to remain intuitive for team members while supporting highly varied content types, custom page requirements, and future expansion without increasing complexity.
Presenting substantial amounts of information in an engaging manner required thoughtful content structuring. The experience needed to remain accessible, readable, and visually appealing without diminishing clarity or usability.

A navigation system built around discovery

A detailed sitemap mapped relationships between content, programs, and resources, creating multiple pathways through the website. Users could easily continue exploring from any section while maintaining awareness of where they were and where to go next.

Templates designed for diverse content

Dedicated page structures were created for different types of information, applications, and supporting content. These reusable templates ensured consistency across the platform while accommodating a wide variety of content requirements.

Flexible CMS tools for everyday teams

CMS structures were designed to give team members greater autonomy when publishing and updating content. The system balances ease of use with flexibility, allowing non-technical contributors to manage content confidently and efficiently.

Visual storytelling that supports learning

Simple geometric elements, illustrations, and supporting visuals were integrated throughout the experience to help break down dense information. These components improved engagement while preserving accessibility and content clarity.

The final website brings Vital Village's extensive ecosystem together through a clear, cohesive, and intuitive digital experience.

A carefully planned information architecture, flexible content templates, and user-friendly CMS allow visitors to navigate seamlessly between resources, programs, and initiatives. Multiple discovery paths encourage continued exploration while maintaining clarity and orientation throughout the journey.
