The value a designer creates

Every designer is different of course (we’re humans). But at our studio, our role is not only to create the visual side of the brand (if that’s the case) but also to make sure that the brand is unique to our client and addresses their business needs.

Every designer is different of course (we’re humans). But at our studio, our role is not only to create the visual side of the brand (if that’s the case) but also to make sure that the brand is unique to our clients and addresses their business needs.

To begin, let’s go through what we covered so far:
  1. Your brand is like Wonder Woman. It’s an unusual analogy but stay with me. So a business without a brand is like Diane Prince (Wonder Woman’s civilian identity)… Just a regular working woman living her everyday life. But if you want to kick some ass and take your business to that next level, you will for sure need a brand and strategy just like Diane takes advantage of her tools and weapons to fight those supervillains.
  2. In case you have a brand, great! But is it a Good Brand? Are your assets doing what they’re supposed to? Are you proud of your brand and feel like it represents the DNA of your business? Are you reaching the goals you set out on your brand strategy? Is your brand prepared to adapt and evolve as times change?
  3. And so we get to our topic of today: the value of a Designer. If you were able to answer the previous questions easily, then you’re on a good path, and a designer might be a good investment to make sure you continue! If not, rest assured, we can also help you with that because that’s what we do. So keep reading!

You might be wondering: “Yes, but if the product/service is good enough, why would I need all of this? Doesn’t the quality sell by itself?”. Well… not really.

Let’s elaborate on the struggles of hiring a designer or a design team. Most businesses don’t exactly make design a priority, because technically their product or service should be enough to be successful and build its image and recognition around it.

But, as we’ve talked about, creating a brand is more than an image or a name. Of course, a lot of thought and labor is put into choosing the right name.

For example, if you’re selling croissants you probably won’t choose the name “techno” for your business (unless you make some really dope techno croissants, which would be quite original). But assuming you don’t make techno croissants… You’d choose a name that represents your business and is relatable to your target customers. The word RELATABLE is key here.

So the quality of your product is NOT the only thing you need to create that is successful. You need connection and you need your communication to be relatable. And that’s where designers come in.

Think about why you buy the things you buy.

Why did you choose that product instead of the other one that appears to do the same thing?

The quality of your product/service is like 50% of your success because it makes sure your customers are happy and come back. But you need that other 50% to make sure they choose you in the first place.

By the way… since we are talking about business names…

So, before we part along for another month, here are some signs that indicate you might be needing a designer for your business:

– You have a quality product/service but you’re not selling it to your desired industry;

– You have a logo but are not fully happy with it;

– You feel like your image is outdated and/or old-fashioned;

– You’ve set out goals for your business but they are not being met;

– You don’t really know but have a gut feeling something’s not quite there yet;

– You feel like you need a new and fresh 360º approach to your brand;

If you can relate to any of these, you might be needing a little inspection to check what’s going on. Trepa can help you with that. We’ll transform your civilian brand into a Super Brand! Just email us and book your call.
